Meet My Daddy!

I'm a meeean dragon! Can't you tell?

This is my Daddy. He came to visit me from Iraq. He's a pretty cool guy, come to find out. I think he thinks I look different- but I think this is how I've always looked...

Mom finally figured out that I wasn't getting enough to eat- believe it or not- so my daddy got to help out.

I'm not really very interested in crawling, but standing up and bouncing is what I call a good time.

All three of us went down to Williamsburg to have a fun time as a family. We got to stay for two weeks. We played a bunch- this was when Gramps and Aunt Jes visited and we went to Jamestown.

Look how strong he is! He can throw me and then even catch me!

We chill together- he's my pal.

Aunt Jes took her turn feeding me-

Gramps took us to Colonial Williamsburg in the snow and they stuck me in the stocks... I thought it was funny, I don't know why people complained...

When you need to eat, you need to eat.

I told dad that I'd handle umbrella duty.

Mom tried to leave me in this jail cell- it's the one where they held Blackbeard's crew. Dad made sure I didn't get locked in though- I knew it was a good idea to bring him along.

We have common interests- there was a big clock putting on a show and we both could have watched it all night.

I wanted to see Yorktown so I dragged them down there for the day. We got to eat in a super old house and they had crackers for me so it was a top notch meal in my estimation...

We got to go swimming, it was a little cold so I mostly just wanted to chill with dad.

So, my verdict is that I enjoy having a dad. He's a keeper!

Jensen's First Christmas

Jence has yet to develop stranger anxiety- he was thoroughly fascinated by Santa.

I helped Jensen put up his "1st Christmas" ornament. It's a shiny metal "Support Our Troops" ribbon. Silly thing made me cry at the store...

He has started getting up on his hands and knees and rocking, but he can still only scoot backwards. And like many mothers I find myself wondering if maybe that's just fine.

He loooves cell phones. Luckily all the things that he loves putting in his mouth are just as fun with the binky in- only dryer, a plus with cell phones...

With Grandma Chrissie at Five Guys.

It seems that the cherry coming off the stem was unexpected...

He picked out a bunch of socks for Gramps' Christmas present (now he may no longer complain that he has holes in all of his.)

Jensen is very comfortable with the whole eating thing. Here he is maxin' at Chipotle.

And finally, Christmas. As you can tell, Santa had been there that night and left his trademark red wrapped presents. Jence did okay unwrapping about one of them- then it was up to mom.

With Aunt Jes and the favorite present- his own remote, which we now can't find. Amazing how even toy remotes seem to have legs...

Jensen eating the bobbins to my new sewing machine.

And during the second half; The wrapping was the best part- of course.

He looved his ball thing from Grandma and Bapa because he could hold onto it so well.

We went and got some family pictures taken. This one is my favorite.

Jensen at the White House

We had the privilege to go on a private tour of the White House decorated for Christmas. It's the only time that you are allowed to take photographs.

Here are Jensen and I standing at the front door.

Jensen, Kandi Mauchley, Grandma Betsy and me in the dining room.

In front of the Christmas Tree

And the flag.

Grandma, Grandpa, Momma, and Jence in front of the portrait of G. Washington that Dolly Madison saved while evacuating the White House before the British burned it.

But for all the neat things we saw Jensen was the most intrigued by the string on his hat...

Here's Kiki being a good big sister and letting her little brother pull her hair. She is so good to him.

November

This was taken right after we had a fit while putting on our socks...

We bought his first pair of shoes this month- blue Converse. This was the first time he wore them.
Jensen can sit! This was the first time that he really sat for a good period of time.

Relaxin' in bed. He is somewhat of a glutton (okay, not somewhat) and when he gets food in any form he won't give it up.
I kept taking pictures of him while he was crying and when the light would come on he would get a funny look on his face...

Halloween!

Jensen was a turtle for his first Halloween.

Alex and I had a longstanding joke that we would dress the two kids the same for Halloween- I couldn't not do it. So we had two turtles.

He wiggled around until he upended himself on his shell.

Tow turtles on the road for candy.

At house #4 Jence was officially done trick or treating. It was fun for me that he got to go around the neighborhood where I grew up- everyone was excited to meet him.

Jensen made out like a bandit, and was happy to be home.
